# Conditions we treat

This is the markdown version of https://drvohras.com/conditions, a page of Dr Vohra's, a psychiatry and psychology clinic in New Delhi. It is information, not medical advice; the clinic's contact details are at the end.

Dr Vohra's treats the full range of mental health conditions in adults, adolescents and children, in person at East Patel Nagar, New Delhi, and online across India. Each page below explains what the condition is, the signs, who to see first, and how it is treated at the clinic.

- ## Depression

Depression is a treatable medical condition, not a weakness or a mood you can snap out of.

- ## Postpartum depression

Postpartum depression (ICD-11 6E20, a mental disorder associated with the puerperium) affects about one in five new mothers in India, by a 2017 meta-analysis of Indian studies, and is distinct from the "baby blues" that pass within two weeks.

- ## Dementia and memory problems

Memory loss that disrupts daily life is not a normal part of ageing and deserves assessment, because some causes are treatable (depression, thyroid problems, vitamin B12 deficiency, medication effects) and because early diagnosis of dementia gives families time to plan.
