# Psychiatrist and Psychologist for West Delhi

This is the markdown version of https://drvohras.com/psychiatrist-in-west-delhi, a page of Dr Vohra's, a psychiatry and psychology clinic in New Delhi. It is information, not medical advice; the clinic's contact details are at the end.

Dr Vohra's is a psychiatry and psychology clinic at 29/24, East Patel Nagar, on the border of West and Central Delhi, in practice since 1998. From most of West Delhi it is a short Blue Line ride or a drive along Patel Road. Psychiatrists see you for evaluation, diagnosis and medication; psychologists for CBT, REBT, DBT, couples and family therapy and counselling. Both are available in person or online, in English and Hindi.

## Getting to the clinic from your part of West Delhi

The Blue Line runs from Dwarka, Janakpuri, Rajouri Garden, Kirti Nagar and Moti Nagar to Patel Nagar and Shadipur stations, each a short walk from the clinic, and the Pink, Green and Red Lines connect to it from the north-west. By road, Patel Road and the Ring Road lead to the East Patel Nagar main market, where there is parking. The times below are typical; traffic changes them.

| From | By metro | By road |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Punjabi Bagh, about 5 km | Pink or Green Line, then the Blue Line from Rajouri Garden or Kirti Nagar | Ring Road and Shivaji Marg to Patel Road, 15 to 25 minutes |
| Rajouri Garden, about 6 km | Blue Line, five stops, about 15 minutes | Najafgarh Road and Patel Road, 20 to 30 minutes |
| Janakpuri, about 9 km | Blue Line from Janakpuri East or West, no change, about 25 minutes | Najafgarh Road, 30 to 40 minutes |
| Paschim Vihar, about 9 km | Green Line to Kirti Nagar, then the Blue Line, about 30 minutes | Rohtak Road and the Ring Road, 30 to 40 minutes |
| Pitampura, about 10 km | Red Line to Netaji Subhash Place, Pink Line to Rajouri Garden, then the Blue Line, about 45 minutes | Outer Ring Road and Shivaji Marg, 30 to 45 minutes |
| Rohini, about 13 km | Red, Pink and Blue Lines as from Pitampura, about 50 minutes | Outer Ring Road, 35 to 50 minutes |
| Dwarka, about 16 km | Blue Line from any Dwarka station, no change, 40 to 50 minutes | Dwarka Link Road and Najafgarh Road, 45 to 60 minutes |

## Near or far: how people from West Delhi consult

From Punjabi Bagh and Rajouri Garden the clinic is 15 to 30 minutes away, and Kirti Nagar is two Blue Line stops from Patel Nagar: close enough for weekly therapy sessions in person. From Janakpuri and Paschim Vihar it is one metro journey with at most one change.

Patients from Pitampura and Rohini commonly come in person for a first psychiatric evaluation or a child's assessment and continue online. Most patients from Dwarka consult online for therapy and follow-ups, although the clinic is a direct Blue Line ride away when a visit is needed.

## Psychiatrist or psychologist, for someone in West Delhi?

Start with a psychiatrist when symptoms are severe, have lasted months, include thoughts of self-harm, or have not improved with therapy; a psychiatrist is a medical doctor who diagnoses and can prescribe. Start with a psychologist for stress, grief, relationship difficulties or mild to moderate anxiety or low mood. Both work in the same clinic, so either can bring in the other without a new referral.
