What a psychologist at Dr Vohra's does
The clinic's psychologists provide structured talk therapy and counselling: assessment in the first session, a plan agreed with you, and weekly sessions of 45 to 50 minutes. They do not prescribe medicine; when medicine is part of the answer, a psychiatrist in the same clinic sees you, so nothing has to be arranged elsewhere.
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for anxiety, low mood, panic, OCD and insomnia
- Rational emotive behaviour therapy (REBT) and mindfulness-based therapy
- Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills for intense emotions and self-harm urges
- Couples and family therapy
- Therapy for children and adolescents, with parent guidance
- Counselling for stress, grief, exam and work pressure, and relationship difficulties
When to see a psychologist first
See a psychologist first for mild to moderate anxiety or low mood tied to a situation, for stress, grief, anger, sleep difficulty, relationship or family conflict, and for skills-based work such as CBT. See a psychiatrist first if symptoms are severe, have lasted months, include thoughts of self-harm, or have not responded to therapy. At Dr Vohra's both work in one clinic, so a psychologist can bring in a psychiatrist (or the reverse) without a new referral.
Getting to the clinic from West Delhi

How many sessions, and what it costs
Most structured therapy runs 8 to 16 weekly sessions; counselling for a specific situation may need fewer, and DBT or long-standing difficulties more. Fees depend on the psychologist and the format and are confirmed when you enquire, before you book; the fees page explains what each session includes.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?
- No. Book directly by phone, WhatsApp or the contact form, describe what has been happening, and the team matches you with a psychologist or suggests a psychiatric evaluation first.
- Can the whole course of therapy be online?
- Yes, for adults. Sessions by secure video or voice call follow the same structure as in-person sessions. First sessions for children and adolescents are in person.
- Will I be put on medication?
- A psychologist does not prescribe. If medicine would help, the psychologist says so and a psychiatrist at the clinic sees you; many people complete therapy without any medication.
- How do I book?
- Call or WhatsApp +91 99992 49223, email help@drvohras.com, or use the contact form. The team confirms the clinician, format and fee before the appointment.
